Municipal solid waste, also called urban solid waste, is a waste type that includes predominantly household waste (domestic waste) with sometimes the addition of commercial wastes. This garbage is generated mainly from residential and commercial complexes. With rising urbanization and change in lifestyle and food habits, the amount of municipal solid waste has been increased rapidly and its composition has been changing.
The methods of management for municipal solid waste:
- Waste source reduction
- Recycling.
- Treatment to destroy or reprocess waste to recover energy or other beneficial resources if the treatment does not threaten public health, safety, or the environment.
- Land disposal, including landfills.
Currently Veolia operates over 1500 municipal solid waste containers in Lithuania and serves apartment unions, public units, various companies, private persons. We offer plastic containers with capacity of 1,1 m3, 0,77 m3, 0,66 m3, 0,24 m3 and 0,12 m3.
In daily operations we use modern specific vehicles and containers, which correspond to requirements of European standards.
According to the customers needs we can arrange a mutually convenient waste collection schedule and offer the most efficient collection system.
Prices for utilisation of unsorted waste depend on the location of collection, amount of waste, container's emptying frequency.
